Overview
The Lansing Unified School District #469 provides a full range of educational opportunities from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The Lansing public school system serves more than 1,860 students and has a graduation rate of 99%.

Accreditation
The State of Kansas has honored all Lansing schools by bestowing the highest accreditation, and each school has maintained good standing with the North Central Association. Over the last ten years, the District has had National Merit Scholars, appointees to the major military academies, and a Commendable National Merit Scholar. In Ingram’s magazine, the Lansing school district was ranked number seven in all of Kansas and Missouri.

District Composition
The District has a staff of 130 teachers, 50 of whom hold advanced degrees. The 18-to-1 student to teacher ratio provides students with many individualized learning experiences. The Lansing School District’s mission is to provide all students with the opportunity to gain scholastic, technical, social, and life-long learning skills essential for academic, occupational and personal success as a productive citizen.

The District occupies three campuses comprised of four buildings:

*Lansing Elementary - Kindergarten through 5th grade
*Lansing Middle School - "The Showcase School"- 6th through 8th grades
*Lansing High School - 9th through 12th grades
*Sallie Zoll Building - School District Offices

In 1995, a technology building was structured to provide an additional learning environment for the students. Looking toward the future, every classroom, lab, and office in the district will have advanced technology capabilities.

Colleges
The University of Saint Mary is a four-year Catholic liberal arts college conveniently located only minutes away from Lansing. USM was cited by The Princeton Review in 2006 as a "Best College in the Midwest." The University of Saint Mary prepares graduates for value-centered lives of learning, service and character. The University's mission is to educate students of diverse backgrounds to realize their God-given potential and prepare them for value-centered lives and careers that contribute to the well-being of our global society. Satellite campuses are located in Overland Park and Kansas City, Kansas.

Kansas City Kansas Community College was founded in 1923 and is a public, two-year community college. Its mission is to provide higher education and life-long learning to the varied communities in its service area, which includes Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties. Kansas City Kansas Community College provides an accessible and supportive learning environment which offers academic, career, and personal development opportunities.
